1)What is MCPCB (Metal Core PCB) ?
Metal Core PCB means the core (base) material for PCB is the metal, not the normal FR4/CEM1-3, etc. and currently the most common metal used for MCPCB manufacturer are Aluminum, Copper and steel alloy. It's also called an IMS (Insulated Metal Substrate) PCB, made of three layers: circuit layer, dielectric layer and a base metal layer.
2)What is thermoelectric separation MCPCB?
It is an alternative PCB technology to the conventional MCPCB providing DIRECT THERMAL PATH solutions for medium to high power LEDs.Or called "DTP PCB", it is directly proportional to the thermal conductivity of the base material. i.e. ~200W/m.k in case of Aluminum and ~400W/m.k in case of copper.
3)Can I use thermoelectric separation MCPCB for any LED packages?
No, It is designed to be used with the LEDs which has electrically neutral thermal pad. Such as Cree XPG, XPE, XPC, XTE, XBD, XML, MTG, Luxeon Rebel & Luxeon M from Philips Lumiled, Oslon SSL & Oslon square from Osram, Nichia N219, Seoul Semiconductor Z5P / Z5M, Samsung 3535, Bridgelux SM4, LZC & LZP from LEDEngin etc.
4)What information is required for a quote?
Please use Gerber data, PCB fabrication notes and array drawing data when you request a quote. This will give you an accurate quote in a short period of time.
